From the grandeur of Werribee Park Mansion to the African savannah you’ll feel like you’re a world away with this easy day trip in Werribee and Surrounds.

MORNING

Explore Werribee Park Mansion
Start your day with a leisurely stroll through these beautiful gardens and the heritage-listed Werribee Park Mansion. Make your way through the beautifully restored rooms and take time to explore the farm and heritage orchard before a well-deserved pot of tea and scones at L.M Café or The Refectory Parlour. Entry to the gardens is free, with Mansion entry from $8.50 - $11.90.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll through Victoria State Rose Garden
From Werribee Park Mansion it’s a short walk to Victoria State Rose Garden. Featuring garden beds landscaped into the shape of a rose in bloom, this stunning garden is spread over six aces, with 5,000 roses on display. The garden is open all year round, with the blooms at their best from November – April. Entry is free with gold coin donation welcome.

LUNCH

Indulge with a cellar door tasting and lunch at Shadowfax Winery
Make your way along the gum-lined drive and settle in for lunch at this beautiful winery and cellar door. Bookings are recommended, especially on weekends with the added buzz of live music.

AFTERNOON

Go on Safari at Werribee Open Range Zoo
You’re never too old for the zoo! Werribee Open Range Zoo’s Safari Bus Tour through the savannah (included in entry) is a must do, but if you’re looking for something extra special, try the Deluxe Safari Adventure or a special animal encounter (bookings required). Zoo entry closes at 3.30pm.

Take a little detour along the coast
Head to  Wyndham Harbour for stunning bay views and mini golf. From the harbour there’s a lovely walk that hugs the coast all the way to Werribee South Foreshore, or take a short drive to explore Campbells Cove Boathouses and Cheetham Wetlands.
