A blooming good break
Have bunches of fun this Spring and see more than 5,000 roses in bloom at the free State Rose and Garden Show at Werribee Park from Saturday 9 to Sunday 10 November 2024. Stay on for an exciting weekend getaway with these top ideas!


Get a spring in your step and head to Victoria State Rose Garden for a 10 am start!

Whether you are a certified green thumb, a gardening novice or fit somewhere in-between, the free State Rose and Garden Show is a must-do!

Wander amongst the blooms and enjoy a stellar stage line-up of demonstrations from leading gardening personalities in The Gardeners’ Dome, browse the gardening stalls, pick up tips in the Green Hub and, learn a new skill at one of the free hands-on workshops!  There’ll be a range of delicious food trucks onsite and of course scones with jam and cream from the Country Women’s Association is a must!

Once you’ve taken in the full fragrance of the blooms, explore all the region has to offer. 

EXPLORE WERRIBEE PARK

First time visitor? Allow time to explore the larger Werribee Park Precinct, including Werribee Park Mansion, Werribee Open Range Zoo, The Refectory Parlour and Shadowfax Winery.

STRETCH YOUR LEGS
After a decadent lunch, stretch your legs and explore the area on foot!  The Werribee River Trail is a great walk that winds alongside the Werribee River from Tarneit to Wyndham Park in Werribee.

Need some sea air? The Wyndham Bay Trail is a paved scenic route along the coastline of Port Phillip Bay between Werribee South Foreshore and Wyndham Harbour. Pop into The Elements Coastal Activity Park while you’re there for a salty spray and mini – yet mighty – 18-hole course!  

Or admire stunning lagoons and saltmarsh on the Cheetham Wetlands Tower Walk.

PICK UP LOCAL CRAFTS

Pop into the annual Werribee Craft Market at Encore Events Centre, open on Friday 8 November between 5pm and 9pm and on Saturday 9 November from 9am – 5pm.

A FOODIE HAVEN 
Werribee has a thriving restaurant scene with a huge range of exciting options. Looking for a place where the food is spicy, and the cocktails are icy? Enjoy late night Mexican at Casa Cantina. In the mood for Italian? Try the newest addition to the street, Il Matto or pizza with riverside views at Teddy Picker.
