5 to Try: Outdoor Dining

Make the most of those warmer days with sunny street dining, spacious beer gardens and waterfront views.

Here’s five to try this summer:

The Park Werribee
This laid-back local favourite is perfect for that overdue catch up with friends. Relax over a pint (there’s more than 30 taps on offer) and enjoy live music in the beer garden or the buzz of the large outdoor dining area in the leafy surrounds of Station Place.

Bridge Hotel Werribee
This art deco pub is always buzzing thanks to the large outdoor beer garden out front, with picnic style tables and umbrellas made for long lunches and those balmy summer evenings. For a more intimate occasion, the Laneway area is another great option, with cushioned bench seating, umbrellas and greenery adding a little more privacy.

Teddy Picker
Located on the banks of the Werribee River amongst the gums, its easy to forget you’re still in the city centre at Teddy Picker. Along with a menu of grazing plates and pizzas perfect for sharing, the astro turf, long picnic tables and colourful umbrellas make for easy summer dining ideal for couples, groups and families.

3030 Waterfront
Because everything tastes better with a pinch of saltwater! 3030 Waterfront at Wyndham Harbour offers a relaxed menu of shared dishes and pizzas paired with cracking views across Port Phillip Bay. Work up an appetite with a walk along the coast from Werribee South Beach and then enjoy a long lunch under the umbrellas in their large outdoor dining area. Open Thursdays – Sundays.

Watton Street
We’re cheating here, but it’s hard to single out a single café on Watton Street in Werribee. This treelined street harks back to the beautiful broad high streets of old, which means that you can enjoy a sun-drenched brunch or latte, with loads of outdoor dining options along the footpath.
